About BGIFT Institute of Science & Technology


BIST, which stands for BGIFT Institute of Science & Technology, affiliated with the National University, was set up in 2008 with 60 students; Under the National University, BIST offered four years of B.Sc. subjects are Apparel Manufacture & Technology (AMT), Fashion Design & Technology (FDT), and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) to meet the growing need for advanced education. BIST is also affiliated with the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). Many students are studying for a diploma in engineering courses in different subjects at this institute.

With a handful of funds, and a dedicated and dynamic faculty, BGIFT Institute of Science & Technology was launched; 14 Years later, with over 5000 highly qualified students, computer labs, two machine stores, and labs, a digital lab, physics and chemistry labs, a vast textile lab, well-trained faculty, energetic support staff, and a dedicated management team. What began as an experimental project has now transformed into a first-rate educational institution with a wide range of excellent educators for local students.

BIST offers well-equipped laboratories, a library with a computer lab (especially for part-time work in the field of financial transcription), a spacious auditorium with surround lighting and sound system, student housing, billiards, and other modern facilities, and serves the interests of students and faculty with a fully equipped indoor games facility. 

It is not just the physical infrastructure that distinguishes BIST from other universities in Dhaka. Rather, the culture and research make BIST stand out in the administration's efforts and commitment to constitute. Every day and every festival is observed with certain pomp and color. Students regularly participate in national and international debates, programming competitions, and research workshops. BIST has 40 vibrant clubs. They are the Career Development Club, the Debate Club, the Cultural Club, the Sports Club, and the Magazine Club. 

Behind these successes is the BGIFT Institute of Science & Technology Board of Trustees, a group of dedicated people who work hard for enlightenment. The members of the BGIFT Institute of Science & Technology Board of Trustees consist of

  4. PRINCIPAL, Md. DELUWAR HOSAIN (Member Secretary) and others.

The BIST authorities are involved in the student's and the university's welfare. Several programs have already been implemented under the welfare activities.
